A rack is the foundation of serious strength training. Rather than buying a fixed, off-the-shelf setup, modular rack systems allow you to build a rack that suits your space, your training style and how you want your gym to evolve over time. Whether you’re building a compact squat rack, a custom power rack, wall mounted system or a larger modular rig, this approach gives you control over layout, height, attachments and future expansion.

Custom squatracks and custom power racks, built your way

The 1RM modular systems are CAD designed and manufactured from high quality steel. Components are fully laser cut, robot welded and finished in a commercial grade, matte black, textured powder coat that suits home gyms and high-traffic environments.

Because the system is modular, you can start with a simple custom squat rack or half rack and add options over time like extra bays, storage, chin-up bars, dip attachments or cable stations.

How to build your own rack

  1. Choose your uprights - Select the height that suits your ceiling clearance and training style.
  2. Add crossmembers and chin-up bars to suit - These create the structure, depth and stability of your rack.
  3. Select your bar supports and safeties - Choose J-hooks and safeties that match how you lift and how you train solo.
  4. Add storage and upgrades - Keep the setup tidy with plate pegs, bar holders and modular storage options.
  5. Choose your training accessories - Add other attachments designed to suit your training goals, including dip handles, utility pads and more.

Can I build a rack now and expand later?
Yes. Modular systems are designed to scale. You can start with a basic cell and add bays, storage and attachments as your training space evolves.

Is this suitable for a home gym rack setup and commercial gyms?
Yes. Modular racks are commonly used in both home gyms and commercial facilities because you can build to suit the space and expand over time.

What do I need to build my own rack?
Start with uprights and the crossmembers needed to create the frame, then add J-hooks and safeties. After that, choose pull-up options, storage and attachments based on your training.

How do I know which attachments will fit?
All our rig and rack attachments are designed to fit our 1RM and 360 Strength racks, but they can be model specific. Check the specifications for upright size, hole size (pin diameter) and any hole spacing requirements on each component. If you’re unsure, contact us and we’ll help.
