Jerk Blocks & Lifting Blocks

1 product

Jerk blocks allow you to train jerks from an elevated starting position without needing to clean the bar from the floor first. By adjusting the block height, you can work on different positions through the jerk and other Olympic lifts, making them useful for both technique work and heavier training.

Our range includes jerk blocks, lifting blocks and drop mats for Olympic weightlifting and heavy barbell training. These products are suited to training environments where Olympic lifting, heavy barbell work and repeated drops are part of the program.

Since 2009, Little Bloke Fitness has supplied Australian weightlifting clubs, PT studios and home gym owners with training equipment built for long-term use. Our range is available to view in our Melbourne showroom and ships Australia wide.

    Why use jerk blocks?

Jerk blocks allow you to isolate specific phases of the jerk without performing a full clean and jerk from the floor. By setting the bar at shoulder or catch height, you can focus on the drive, split timing and overhead stability under load. This makes it easier to repeat specific positions and work on technique without having to clean the bar for every rep.

Drop mats provide impact absorption for controlled barbell drops, helping reduce impact, noise and wear on the training surface and equipment.

Our range is designed for serious weightlifting training environments. Whether you're setting up a weightlifting platform at home or equipping a training facility, these products are built to handle heavy, repeated use.

    Jerk block FAQs

Jerk blocks are primarily used in Olympic weightlifting training to practise the jerk from an elevated starting position. They allow you to load the bar at shoulder height and focus on the drive and catch phases without performing a full clean. They can also be used for block cleans, block snatches and partial pulls.

Jerk blocks are raised platforms you set the barbell on to train from an elevated position. Drop mats are impact-absorbing mats placed on the floor to protect surfaces during controlled barbell drops. They serve different purposes and are often used together.

Yes, provided you have adequate ceiling height for overhead work and appropriate flooring to handle barbell drops. Our team can advise on space and safety requirements for a home setup.

If you're training movements that involve dropping a loaded barbell, drop mats can provide additional impact and noise reduction. They're particularly useful in home gyms, shared spaces or anywhere you want more protection than your existing flooring or platform provides.
