Wall balls are a staple conditioning tool for throwing, catching and squat-based movements. Larger and softer than traditional medicine balls, wall balls are engineered to absorb impact against walls and targets with controlled rebound, making them ideal for interval training, CrossFit-style workouts, partner drills and circuit programming.
Since 2009, Little Bloke Fitness has equipped Australian gyms with durable functional training tools that hold up under heavy use. Our anti-slip wall balls are built with reinforced stitching and balanced weighting to handle thousands of reps in both home and commercial environments.

Wall balls are built specifically for high-rep throwing and catching against a wall or target. Unlike traditional medicine balls or slam balls, wall balls are designed to absorb impact while maintaining shape and predictable rebound. The classic wall ball shot, squatting down and explosively throwing the ball to a target overhead, develops leg drive, core stability, and timing under fatigue.
A well-built wall ball should:
Hold its shape through repeated throws
Feel balanced in the hands during squats and catches
Absorb wall impact without excessive bounce
Maintain stitching and outer integrity over time
Perfect for:
High-rep conditioning intervals and AMRAP-style workouts
Squat-to-throw progressions that build explosive strength
Partner-based drills and team conditioning sessions
Full-body circuits that combine strength and cardio demand
Gym classes and group training environments where durability and safety matter
Wall balls have a soft, anti-slip outer shell and low-bounce design that makes them safer for indoor training spaces and easier to control during fatigued reps.
Our wall balls are designed for repetitive, high-impact use:
Soft, durable synthetic leather with anti-slip properties
Thick, reinforced stitching to withstand daily throwing and impact
Evenly distributed cotton and rubber granule fill for consistent weight and balance
Low-bounce construction that absorbs impact and stays close to the wall
Available in a range of weights to suit different training intensities and user levels
Build a complete conditioning setup with:
Classic Medicine Balls – for partner throws and rotational work
Slam Balls – for non-bounce explosive slams
Plyo Boxes – for box jump variations and step-ups
Kettlebells – for swings, cleans and conditioning circuits
Medicine Ball Storage – to keep your training area organised
What's the difference between a wall ball, a medicine ball and a slam ball / dead ball?
Wall balls are larger and softer, built specifically for high-rep target throws and squat-based conditioning. Medicine balls are typically smaller and firmer, suited to partner throws, rotational work and controlled rebounding drills. Slam balls (or dead balls) are dense, low-bounce balls designed for aggressive ground slams and heavy impact work without rebounding.
What height should I aim for?
Standard wall ball targets are set at 3 metres (10 feet) for men and 2.7 metres (9 feet) for women in competitive settings, though you can adjust based on your training goals and ceiling height.
Can wall balls be used for slams?
Wall balls can handle low impact slamming, but they're not designed for aggressive, high-impact slams. For that, use a slam ball with a thicker, non-bounce shell.
