Olympic Weight Plates

16 products

Olympic weight plates are designed with a 50mm centre bore to fit Olympic barbells, providing the foundation for progressive strength training across squats, deadlifts, presses and accessory movements.

Available in cast iron and rubber-coated finishes, Olympic plates offer different levels of floor protection, noise reduction and grip depending on how and where you train. Compared to bumper plates, Olympic weight plates are typically thinner, allowing more total load on the barbell sleeve when dropping the bar is not required.

Since 2009, Little Bloke Fitness has supplied Australian gyms with 360 Strength Olympic weight plates that deliver consistent performance and long-term durability. Whether you're equipping a home gym or outfitting a commercial facility, our Olympic weights are built to handle daily use with ±3% weight tolerance and commercial-grade construction.

    Why choose Olympic weight plates?

Olympic weight plates are the most versatile option for barbell training. With a 50mm centre bore, they fit all Olympic barbells and work across squats, deadlifts, presses, rows and accessory movements without the added thickness of bumper plates.

    Perfect for:

    • Home gym setups prioritising versatile, controlled barbell loading

    • Commercial gyms with varied training styles and high daily volume

    • Powerlifting and general strength training programs

    • Controlled barbell lifting where plates won't be dropped

    Olympic weight plate FAQs

What's the difference between Olympic and standard weight plates?

Olympic weight plates have a 50mm centre hole and fit Olympic barbells. Standard plates have a 25-30mm hole and fit standard barbells.

Can I use Olympic plates for deadlifts and squats?

Yes. Olympic weights work perfectly for all barbell movements, including squats, deadlifts, presses and rows. Ensure you're lowering the bar under control rather than dropping it if using cast iron or rubber-coated plates.

Do I need bumper plates or Olympic plates?

If you're doing Olympic lifts (snatch, clean and jerk) and dropping the barbell, choose bumper plates. For all other barbell training where you control the descent, Olympic weight plates work well and are often more affordable.

What's the difference between cast iron and rubber-coated plates?

Rubber-coated plates have a 3mm moulded rubber layer that reduces noise, protects floors, and provides easier handling with moulded grips. Cast iron plates offer classic aesthetics and durability at a lower cost. Both have the same 50mm bore and ±3% tolerance.
