What is a prone row bench used for?

A prone row bench is a specialty bench designed for horizontal pulling exercises such as prone rows, seal rows and bench pulls. The lifter lies face down on the elevated pad and rows the barbell from underneath the bench, keeping the torso supported throughout the movement.

Do I need the cambered row barbell to use this bench?

The cambered row barbell is an optional accessory rather than part of the standard bench package. It is designed specifically for use with the Prone Row Bench and can be selected when purchasing if required.

  • Modify the frame, upholstery or adjustment mechanisms.

Warranty Exclusions:

  • Normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, surface scratches, paint or powder-coat damage and corrosion.
  • Normal wear, stretching, creasing or deterioration of upholstery.
  • Cuts, tears, abrasions, burns or other upholstery damage caused by use, clothing, footwear, equipment or sharp objects.
  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, impact, overloading, incorrect assembly or improper storage.
  • Damage resulting from inadequate maintenance.
  • Damage resulting from unauthorised modification or repair.
  • Upholstery damage resulting from sweat, unsuitable cleaning products or failure to clean and maintain the bench appropriately.

Product Description

The 1RM Prone Row Bench is designed for dedicated prone row and bench pull training in commercial gyms, personal training studios, sporting facilities and home gyms. The elevated padded platform supports the user in a prone position while the barbell is positioned underneath, creating a fixed setup specifically for horizontal pulling exercises.

The Prone Row Bench combines the bench platform and adjustable barbell supports into a single purpose-built station. Supplied with 1RM Premium J-hooks, it can also be expanded with compatible spotter arms, band pegs, plate storage pegs and a cambered row barbell.

Features

The Prone Row Bench is built around a 75mm x 75mm x 3mm tube steel frame with 8mm brace plates, providing the structural support required for regular strength training. The frame is finished in a textured matte black powder coat, while rubber contact points underneath the bench help reduce unwanted movement and separate the steel frame from the training surface.

Laser-cut holes and numbered uprights allow the supplied 1RM Premium J-hooks to be positioned at different heights. This allows the barbell starting position to be adjusted to suit the exercise setup and user, while making preferred positions easier to identify between sessions.

The bench pad is fabricated from plywood and high-density foam to provide a firm, supportive surface while training in the prone position. HDPE lining underneath the pad provides a protective contact surface in the area above the barbell, helping prevent direct bar-to-frame contact during use.

The station can also be configured with optional 1RM spotter arms, band pegs and Olympic plate storage pins. An optional cambered row barbell is available for users wanting a bar designed specifically around prone row training.
