This depends on how much space you have available, your budget, the number of people / clients you will have training on the rig at any one time. Couple that with chin-up bar choice, height potions and accessories like spotter arms, torsonators, ball targets, trawling arms, rope hook, storage and dip horns and the process can get complicated.
This requires some consultation and is not something that should be decided without careful consideration, to ensure you get the right rig for your facility.
Should I buy a Wall Mounted or Free Standing Rig?
If you have the space go for a free standing rig as you will have double the squat/bench press stations and chin-up stations. You will also have the ability to add more options. Free standing rigs provide most facilities with a real centre piece for their layout. This provides greater functionality for clients and they just look awesome and impressive!
If space is an issue then a Wall Mount Rig is ideal. Wall mounted rigs are incredibly efficient, and very space effective.
And if you’re going to push some big weights on the systems and are worried about rigidity – have a look at the braced rigs.
Do I need 2510mm, 2750mm or 2660mm uprights?
This really depends on how much height you have available in your facility and what you will use them for.
If you have higher ceilings and regularly use rings or TRX systems, the taller set-ups can be advantageous.
How many squatting or chin up stations do I need?
This also depends on how much available space you have and whether you are opting for a Wall Mounted or Free Standing Rig. A standard single well mounted cell offers one lifting station, while a single free standing cell offers two.
For multiple cells, whther wall mounted or free-standing, the standard configuration is always a lifting cell, followed by a bridging cell that is a little wide- often used for chins, trx etc – then another lifting cell etc.
